Very good. She is interesting. I am pleased that you both agreed that a better definition of Neo-liberal is in order. Regardless of what the great Milton Friedman said, liberalism entails less government not more. Fairness is a different concept than Justice. It seems to me that bankruptcy laws should not protect corporations from the consequences of their bad decisions.

Ultimately, the individual is responsible for the coup that she describes. Whether or not these individuals are part of government, or the "system." Now I agree that money must be made by producing things, but that is not possible without capital. No capital neans no production capable of sustaining our society.

I came away from your conversation more convinced that freedom is the most moral but also the philosophy that works.

Capitalism can be practiced for good or ill. Free-enterprise is my preferred name for what is our aspiration.

Thanks! I think there’s a very interesting argument that the answer to the financialization of the markets is less regulation, not more—I have a guest coming in a few weeks to make that argument.
